G C Hey where did we go G D Days when the rains came Down in a hollow Playing a new game Laughing and a-running, hey hey Skipping and a-jumping In the misty morning fog with Our hearts a-thumpin'Pre-Chorus
C D G Em And you ... my brown-eyed girl C D G D7 You're my ... brown-eyed girl And whatever happened To Tuesday and so slow Going down the old mine with-a Transistor radio Standing in the sunlight laughing Hiding behind a rainbow's wall Slippin' and a-slidin' All along the waterfall With you ... my brown-eyed girl You're my ... brown-eyed girlChorus

G ... C ... G ... D ... (repeat as desired) So hard to find my way Now that I'm all on my own I thought it just the other day My how you have grown Cast my memory back there, Lord Sometimes I'm overcome thinkin' about it Making love in the green grass Behind the stadium With you ... my brown eyed girl You're my brown-eyed girl Do you remember when ... we used to sing Sha la la la la la la la la la la ti da... just like that Sha la la la la la la la la la la ti da... la ti da Sha la la la la la la la la la la ti da... Sha la la la la la la la la la la ti da...

Here is one way to play the distinctive intro riff. This approach will keep your left hand in the same general fret position for each chord –- but some pinky work will be required. Be sure to voice the highest note you're playing during each change -- this gives the voice to the melody.

Here is an alternative way to play the intro riff. This has your hands moving up/down the fretboard a bit more, but in some ways is desirable to the first version shown above. Thanks to this tab for the inspiration with this approach.

Here's a list of the 173 songs I've added to the site since December 2012. Each song was added by me personally.
Songs are grouped by the year they were released.
My name is David Potsiadlo, and I created Songnotes to share my collection of guitar tabs, chords, and lyrics for my favorite songs.
Since I started playing guitar over 10 years ago, I've often been frustrated by the preponderance of mediocre and incomplete song tabs littered across the internet. To combat this, I started keeping my own collection of notes for each song I learn -- always taking the extra time to make sure accuracy and completeness are never compromised. Years later, my collection grew to the point where I knew I had to share it online with fellow aspiring musicians.
In December 2012, I began designing & developing a website that became Songnotes. Here, I share my personal collection of hand-crafted music notation with all those online. I hope you enjoy.
